The fire was said to have demolished properties worth millions of naira.

Nevertheless, the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service said that the fire had been put under control.
Earlier, a storey building was destroyed in the market in late January. On February 2, 2023, a building at the market was gutted by fire.
