The Portuguese footballer, Cristiano Ronaldo is the first player in history to hit 300 million followers on Instagram.


Ronaldo is currently on international duty. He was born on February 5, 1985, in Funchal, Madeira, Portugal.


At the age of 18, Ronaldo made his international debut for Portugal in August 2003 and has gone on to be capped over 100 times.


In the 2004 FA Cup final as a 19-year-old, Ronaldo scored Manchester United's opening goal and starred in a 3-0 win over Millwall as he won his first trophy in English football.


He helped the Portuguese reach the semifinals in his first World Cup in 2006 and led Portugal to its first major title at the European Championship two years ago in France.

He was voted FIFA player of the year in 2008, then in January ended Lionel Messi's run of four consecutive awards.


Ronaldo joined Real Madrid in 2009 from Manchester United and was the Spanish club's all-time leading scorer with 451 goals in 438 matches.


He won the FIFA Ballon d'Or award for 2014 on Monday, earning the title of world's best football player for a third time.


Ronaldo was named the world's most charitable sportsperson in 2015 after donating £5 million to the relief effort after the earthquake in Nepal which killed over 8,000 people.


He led Portugal to the 2016 European Championship, the first major international title in the country's history.

He helped Madrid win four Champions Leagues beating Juventus in the final in 2017 and also won La Liga and the Copa del Rey twice each.


20th of October of 2018 marked the day that Cristiano Ronaldo reached another landmark. On this day he became the first player to score 400 goals across Europe's top five leagues.


According to Forbes, in 2019, Cristiano Ronaldo was the second-highest paid soccer player in the world, making $109 million.
